Bianca obtained a Bachelor in Biological Sciences and a Master in Neurobiology from the University of Pavia (Italy), alongside a diploma in Biomedical Sciences from the University School for Advanced Studies (IUSS Pavia). Before starting her PhD studies, she gained diverse research experience in international institutes such as DZNE (Munich), the Humboldt University (Berlin), NeuroPsi (Paris-Saclay), and Politecnico di Milano, working on neuroproteomics, circadian rhythms, and microfluidics. Bianca joined the lab in May 2023, and in October 2024 she began her PhD within the PPU program (Institut Pasteur/Université Paris Cité). Her research focuses on the gut-brain axis in Parkinson’s disease, investigating intestinal inflammation as a potential early trigger for this complex pathology. Applying iPSC-derived 2D and 3D models and organ-on-chip technology, she is investigating how seemingly unrelated challenges, like infections or inflammatory bowel diseases, connect to the onset of Parkinson's
